Back Extension Machine


Pro Tip

Your gym may have a back extension machine with handles on the side of the seat. If it has them, hold onto them instead of crossing your arms in front of your chest.


How To

  1. Position yourself on the machine with your feet on the footrest and arms crossed in front of your chest.
  2. Exhale and lean backward, extending your back. Don't allow your feet to leave the footrest.
  3. Continue extending until your body is straight or you cannot do so any longer, whichever comes first.
  4. Inhale and then allow yourself to bend forward, returning to the starting position.

Lower Back

Center region of your back, spanning from the pelvis to just below the neck. However, parts of it are hidden beneath other muscles. The lower portion is the most visible.
